Who's Who? What? When? Where? Why?

“Here are enshrined the longing of great hearts and noble things that tower above the tide, the magic word that winged wonder starts, the garnered wisdom that has never died”
I came to New York on a whim. My first week here I wandered to nowhere in particular and I came upon this inscription. I thought it was very beautiful. It was a very windy day. I went inside to read. This blog is a space where I will share intriguing histories and other anomalous stories that I find interesting enough to “enshrine”, many of which will revolve around New York.
P.S. This photo was taken in 1958 by Irving Herzberg. It is the facade of main building of Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza.
